Hopelight Quote

Editorial policy

Last updated

Our blog exists to give freight brokers and shippers practical, accurate answers. This page explains how we write and maintain it.

Who writes our articles

Articles are written and reviewed by the Hopelight Labs team, drawing on our work building quoting, pricing and fleet software for transport companies. Where a topic needs specialist knowledge, such as a legal ruling or a federal rule, we rely on primary sources (court opinions, the Federal Register, FMCSA and the eCFR) and say so in the article.

How we research

  • Facts and figures are sourced. Market rates, regulatory dates and legal points link to the source we used. If a number comes from an industry report, we say which one and when.
  • Examples are labeled. When we work through a load, a margin or a quote, the figures are illustrative unless we say otherwise. We use them to show the method, not to promise a price.
  • We separate advice from information. Articles about regulation or liability explain what a rule says and how brokers usually respond. They are not legal advice, and we say when a lawyer should be involved.

Product mentions

Hopelight Labs makes Hopelight Quote and runs the Hopelight Network, and some articles mention them where they are relevant. We aim to write articles that are useful on their own, whether or not you ever use our products, and we name other tools and approaches where they fit better.

Advertising

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose or review our articles, and ads never influence what we write. Ads are labeled as such by Google.

Updates and corrections

Freight markets and rules change. We review articles regularly and update them when a rule, rate trend or practice changes; the date at the top of an article shows when it was last updated. If you find an error, email contact@hopelightlabs.com with the page link. We correct factual errors promptly and note significant changes in the article.
